Today's Insight for Living

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever.  -Psalms 103:8-9

The Scripture, which emphasizes the fact that God is love, states that anger is OK. God gets angry, but He is slow to anger. He doesn't have a quick fuse. His anger is linked to His mercy. In other words, at times He gets upset with us out of His love. He wants the best for us and desires that we get back on track. The psalmist also says that this God of mercy does not keep His anger if we repent. He deals with us directly, and then lets go of His anger.

Prayer:
Lord, help me not to run from my anger, but to look for what my anger means; then have the courage to confront it and to change.
