There Is Restoration After Failure

                                                   When The Door Slams

"So repent [Change your inner self-your old way of thinking, regret past sins] to God-seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day];.                                                      Act 3:19 AMP

Most men despise personal failure. We don't want to admit wrongdoing. We even hate asking for directions. Every difficulty becomes our own burden to bear. Perhaps this is why some men tend to spiral out of control when they are caught in sin.

They have tried to correct things on their own, personally blamed others for their  predicament, and then, when the secret is out, they decide it is no longer worth the effort, spiraling into behaviors they never dreamed possible.

Failure should bring us face to face with Jesus. We come to Him and bow at His feet in the brokenness of a man finally willing to ask for help. There is no shame in this purifying act-it is exactly what God wants us to do. In fact, He makes a promise that He will heal us from our sin if we confess it: "If we admit our sins-make a clean brake-a-way from them. Jesus will not let us down; He will be true to himself. Lord God will forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing" (1 John 1:9).

There is restoration after failure. There is hope after hurt. There is love after rebellion. This is only possible through the God who is all too aware of our failures and chooses to love us anyway. If this describes the world you live in now, then stop wasting time. Admit your failings and ask the Lord God for the help you need.

Think about this: When our dreams come true and our plans prove successful, we find it easy to thank our Creator and easy to trust His divine providence. But in times of sorrow or hardship, we may find ourselves questioning God's plans for our lives.

On occasion, there will be circumstances that will trouble you to the very core of your soul. It is during these difficult days that you must find the wisdom and courage to trust your heavenly Father despite your circumstances.

Renewal: May God fill me with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that I may walk worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power according to His glorious might, so that I may have great endurance and patience with joy (Colossians 1:9-11).

Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the LORD and thank Him for His forgiveness.
